Wow, fourteen years old. I was six when dA launched…gods, I feel old now…

As my message box has recently blown up with my watches sharing their stories I think it’s only fair I share my experiences.

I first heard of dA through…Fanfiction.net, I think. I was barely fourteen and just getting into Fanfiction, late bloomer I know.

I glanced around the site, saw one too many nipples, and hightailed it out. (I am a very modest person and back then that translated into an almost comical aversion to any nude not made in a scientific manner).

A year later I was stuck in an art class.

I have Cerebral Palsy and it mostly affects my legs but my fine motor skills are one part underdeveloped and three parts completely shot to hell.

Which makes the arts nearly impossible; so I began looking into my options and finally found ArtRage…

But I needed line art and so I searched using Google Images and dA popped up and so I began my search of the site and downloaded a few pages. Don’t worry I told my teacher about this

My very first piece of artwork using ArtRage used lines from dA, ‘Elven Hunter’, which is still up in my gallery.

But it was during my Junior year that I changed from Lurker to Member, if only to favorite and thus keep track of my favorite line-arts and who made them for easy reach and kudos-giving.

Then I took a huge step. I uploaded some of my colorings.

I haven’t looked back since.

Through updating ArtRage to expanding my techniques.

There is only now and only the future.

Then, then is gone.

And dA taught me that.
